What tracked machines are Track Chains designed for?

The original Track Chains are designed for tracked Skid Steers and Mini Excavators which have tracks in the 4 sizes we have available. (Most machines)

Why do you use Cable and not Chain?

We get that question a lot, We used to use Chain, We have a lot of experience with Chain, We know cable is better.

Will using Track Chains damage my tracks?

No, A BIG NO

Unlike our competitors, Track Chains’s Cables for Track do not at all damage your tracks.

How many cables are in a Track Chains set?

There are 14 cables in a set (7 Per Track).

How should I figure out my track spacing for the Track Chains?

Count the treads around your track and divide by 7 (the number of chains in a set) to find the spacing for each chain. Install each cable spaced evenly around the track.

How do the Track Chains tighten?

Track Chains tighten from end to end (from C-Clamp to C-Clamp) across the tracks.

How much should I tighten each bolt?

Be careful not to cross thread the hex nut when tightening the bolt. Tighten each bolt until it is snug. (Please use common sense)

How long does it take to put Track Chains on?

It takes one person about 10-15 minutes to install Track Chains on a brand-new set of tracks.

If my tracks are new, are there any extra installation steps (due to the track thickness)?

Yes, you will need to use a mallet or a pry bar to help snug up the inner C-Clamp onto the inner edge of the track when the tracks are new (due to the thickness of new tracks). The outer C-Clamp which goes on the outside edge of the track will be tightened with the bolt.

Can I drive on pavement?

Yes, but like all things, Track Chains will wear out more quickly the more they are driven over pavement.

Are there any tread patterns which don’t work well with Track Chains?

Track Chains do not work for all ASV tracked machines please contact us before you make a purchase on any ASV machines. Multi Bar track patterns don’t work good with Chains for Tracks, they make the machine vibrate.

All other skid steer track treads work well, including the zigzag pattern, hex pattern, premium c-pattern, h-pattern, standard-duty c-pattern, block pattern, XHP track turf pattern and block pattern.  Please contact us if you are unsure about a tread pattern.

What is the size of Track Chains, for figuring out clearance distances?

The C-Clamp thickness is 1/4" on all sides. The sidewall is 1/4". The underside of the C-Clamp (the part that goes under the track) is 2 1/4-2 1/2". The upperside of the C-Clamp (part that goes over the clamp on the treadside) is 2". Make sure your machine has enough clearance for these measurements.

What is the warranty on Track Chains?

Track Chains products are warrantied against manufacture defect for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase with proof of purchase. This warranty excludes any damage from normal wear and tear, improper use, or extreme use at the discretion of Track Chains.

After the Track Chains are on, do I need to keep checking on them?

After correctly installing and driving with Track Chains for a short period of time, it is recommended that all bolts are re-checked for tightness.

Will other sizes of Chains for Tracks be manufactured in the future?

We offer chain sets for ASV, however they need to be custom made so shipping will take 5-7 extra business days than usual. We are in the process of manufacturing sets for walk behind tracked machines.

CAUTION: Do not cross thread the hex nut when tightening the bolt. Do not use an Impact Drill on the Track Chains.
